Texas Spring Break Trip

Week 1: March 16 – 23, 2019
Week 2: March 23 – 30, 2019
The Spring Break Mission Trip takes place over two weeks on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The trip originally began back in 2009, shortly after Hurricane Ike caused widespread death and damage on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The trip was initially intended to help rebuild the communities affected by the hurricane, but while we were there, we realized that a majority of the communities we were working with were also struggling with poverty. As a result, we decided to make the Texas Spring Break Mission Trip an annual event.

During the trip, participants will take turns fixing breakfast in the morning and then assist with mission projects during the day. Last year’s projects included organizing clothing at Helping Hands & Heart Hospice, painting and renovating for NAMI and Second Chances Gift Shop, building an observatory at the Texas Mid-Coast National Wildlife Refuge, and planting a garden at the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory. Evenings will consist of food and fellowship around the dinner table, and activities, such as sand volleyball, worship, bible studies, group discussions, and beach bonfires.

Participation in the Texas Spring Break Mission Trip costs a mere $220 per week. Participants can choose to attend however many weeks desired. This trip is an amazing opportunity to meet new people and show God’s love and kindness to others through service.
